SINOART 2024 New Product: Oil Paint Sticks
Oil paint sticks have long been present in Western countries, initially developed as an industrial product for marking on outdoor surfaces such as wood, stone, or metal. They were later refined and adapted for use in oil painting.
Due to their high price and the complexity of their use, these products have remained relatively obscure within the art materials market. However, through continuous research and development, SINOART has successfully incorporated this product into our production line. As a professional art materials trading company, SINOART is dedicated to achieving the highest level of professionalism in the art supply market. We aspire to one day provide artists with all the tools they need for their creative work, thus make art happen.
Artist Quality Oil Paint Sticks For Painting
What exactly is an oil paint stick?
First off, oil paint sticks are not oil sticks, crayons, or soft pastels. They are made of artist-grade pigments mixed by hand with drying oils and mineral waxes to form solid oil paints. Compared to using oil paints, oil paint sticks avoid the need for solvents required in traditional oil painting and dry much faster, taking only 2 to 6 days. (Traditional oil paints take 1 to 3 months to dry thoroughly).
Features:
The product has a thin dry film on the surface, which can be gently wiped off with a cloth before use. After completing the artwork, just let the solid pigment air dry, and a new protective film will form on its surface, keeping the pigment moist. The next time you use it, simply remove or wipe off the dry film. (It's important to store oil paint sticks in a cool place, away from prolonged exposure to the sun.) The SINOART oil paint sticks, in particular, offer excellent creaminess, good mixing, and layering properties, and high vibrancy, the effects of which I will showcase through images at the end of the article.
How to use oil paint sticks:
Oil paint sticks are suitable for all traditional oil painting substrates and perform better on sturdy, flat surfaces, such as wooden panels or canvas boards. They can be used directly on the medium without the need for a base color or cut with a palette knife and diluted with turpentine or mineral oil to create a paint that is brushable and compatible with traditional oil painting.
Packaging:
Each oil pastel is wrapped in foil and then placed into a colored paper tube, followed by suitable packaging. Currently, we offer 58 colors, available in sets of 6, 18, 24, or 36, packaged in color boxes or wooden boxes.
